And it's not like we don't like taking pictures of our own daughter or that we don't take a bunch that just sit on our memory card and get forgotten amidst the runaroundcrazytime of raising such an awesome and energetic kid, so don't you even think that.
Wait, what were we talking about?
Well okay we know there are some people who read this blog who couldn't give a flying red Roman Scuba tank about facts and figures and feelings, especially as they pertain to Nora's parents (yours trulies). You just want the good stuff. The pictures. Outta the way, Ma and Pa Chatterboxes!
Well fine, here's a whole new album (click on the photo):

Kid in the Hall |
Knock yourself out.
SPOILER: They're all photos of Nora in our hallway. How's that for a theme? Hopefully, like a fresh raw steak to salivating hounds, this will hold for a while the rabid image-hungry subset of the NSJ fan club.
Now, as for facts and figures, here are a few for the less sensationalist and superficial among you following along at home:
- One-year immunizations - She's all caught up and looking good. No adverse reactions and she does markedly better with needles than her father does. Dr. Christina continues to be a rock star.
- Food - Eating everything now except peanut butter, strawberries and shellfish. Gotta hold off until the Big 0-2 for that stuff. She's into (cow's) milk more and more, which is a good sign and a bit of a relief for Gillian, obviousleeeeeee.
- Teeth - She has them. Boy howdy, does she ever. And these days I bet she really wishes she didn't. No, we haven't tried the scotch-on-the-gums trick yet and no, we have not yet ruled that option out. Stop judging. I can feel you judging. Stop it.
- Words to date: hat, daddie (doggie), cat, birdie, appshaw (applesauce), apane (airplane), adoo (avocado), no, basch (bus), push, cheese, keys, trees (those three are the same "tees" sound, depending on what's in front of her), ready, off, on, in, out, more, help, up (which also means "down", or "release me at once!"), baby, bye, mama, papa, Ouffi (Sophie, her BFF), Yuki (her other BFF) reshh (rice), adda (other, usually in reference to shoes or gloves), dooshh (shoe), luff (glove), dglashhisssh (glasses), yeah, yuck, dirty, guy, bee, button, tractor, door, laundry, leggie (BabyLegstm baby leg warmers), wall, hot, poop, peepee, bubbles, eye, head, toes (which she also refers to as "piggies"), knee, elbow, wash, ice, nose, aalbatto (almond butter), happy, honey, apple, pear, banana (almost), milk, water, hang on, oh no, uh-oh, owie, Nona (her own name) and zebra. Plus, a variety of animal sounds including those of a dog, cat, horse, cow, bird, lion, owl, duck, bee, monkey, sheep and elephant. I know MBAs with less extensive vocabularies.
- Cuts n' scrapes - She does indeed know the word "hot", which also means she's learning more about "owies" and how much they suck. The most frequent owie locations recently (besides her gums) have been fingers and back-of-head, which is not uncommon for active Toddling Americans. We are trying not to lose our minds over the minor injuries, even though our hearts secretly shatter with each serious wipeout. And she is a pretty durable kid. She only cries when she has actually hurt or surprised herself. Otherwise, she's kind of the Timex of the toddler world [see also licking, takes a and ticking, keeps on]. Still, learning is hard. Must learn harder.
More pics and videos (from Nora and Gillian's recent trip to sunny San Diego!) coming... soon... ish...
